Playing in the Rain

Sunday brought some much needed rain. We had a lazy morning winding down from all of the festivities of the week. The girls wanted to play in the rain. Conveniently, McKinley got some really cute polka dot rain shoes from her Aunt Ashley & Uncle Ryan for her birthday. Perfect timing! So dressed in their finest PJ's, off they went to play in the rain in the backyard. Lots of fun!

Birthday Bash (March 28th)

We had McKinley's birthday party on Saturday. It was a great & windy day! We had fun chasing balloons and tablecloths and wrapping paper. The kids had a scavenger hunt and some pizza for lunch. Then we had a surprise visit from one of McKinley's classmates' mom and she brought her work vehicle - A FIRE TRUCK! It was a great treat for the kids. Thank you Linda! After blowing out the candles on her Barbie & The Diamond Castle cake, McKinley opened all of her many presents. She is a very lucky girl! We had a great time with family & friends, young & old. It really was an awesome day...

McKinley Turns 5!!! (March 25th)

McKinley turned 5 years old. She has had a week full of celebrations. Wednesday we took cupcakes to school. She got to wear a birthday crown all day and her buddies sang to her. For dinner she asked to go to the "sushi restaurant". (She is her mother's daughter!) I was just as excited as she was. She had "pushing beans" (edamame), soup, and sticky rice. This time she even tried a cooked roll. We had lots of fun. She got to open her presents from Mommy and Daddy. Among the gifts was a Hannah Montana guitar. Oddly enough, she doesn't even get to watch Hannah Montana, but even talking about it on the playground with friends creates the desire. McKinley has been busy performing concerts daily in our living room. Caelyn is the perfect little sister, patiently playing back-up until her big sister sets the guitar down. Then she snatches it up for her own jam session. Headliners go first, right?

Life on the Mound...

Well, it's been a while, but we've been really busy. Attached are some pictures of the girls from their recent t-ball practices & games. It's been a bit more time consuming than we thought, but it really has been lots of fun. McKinley has faired life as a Bulldog well. She has been properly brainwashed and can promptly respond "But I'm a Gator at heart" to any who might question her allegiance. Caelyn is a Flying Tiger (sponsored by a minor league team in our area). She has her first game after Spring Break. We'll play thru April and then hang up the bat bag for a while.
